Wind turbines, there are two common wind turbines in use today the three phase where you need three cables comming back to a controler which rectifies to DC and will limit the windmills speed in hight winds, this type of windmill can have problems when the controler failes and replacements are very costly. It is better to use a PMA (Perminent Magnet Altenator) which uses two cables with positive and negative connetions straight onto the battery and then use a dump load regulator to control battery voltage this sytem is much more reliable and you need only one regulator for both turbines and solar panels.
