Many things you learn a long the way of living a green lifestyle, is how to save money but most importantly also how not to waste energy.
Taking the simple step of cleaning the lint trap ( also known as the lint filter or lint screen) each time you use the dryer reduces a potential fire hazard. That’s probably obvious. What may not be so obvious is that this act alone saves energy.
Hot air doesn’t move through the dryer as efficiently when the lint trap is dirty, so the appliance has to work a lot harder and hotter. Keeping the lint trap clean can decrease energy consumption by up to 30 percent. All that routine maintenance goes an awful long way to help extend the life of the dryer, too.
Also, don’t toss that wonderful collection of fuzzies ( Lint ) into the trash… You can compost lint. It can also be used as mulch, as nesting material for your little bird friends
And if you do a lot of camping makes excellent fire-starter during our next camping trip.
isn’t living green awesome!!
